I’m back up to the weight I was at for Weight Log: 1 at the beginning of March and I can put this down to a poor coping mechanism, my stress eating. A poor excuse but something else I need to work on. As frustrating as it is, I am going to try and not let this blip get me down too much– Well if you’ve spoken to me already today, you know its getting me down but just need to keep going and see if I can curb things to get back on track.
Food is how I cope. This is unhealthy, stress is unhealthy. You can’t get rid of a coping mechanism, only replace it. Replacing it with something more healthy and sustainable is the trick. Another puzzle to my weight loss challenge. 🤔
Intermittent fasting (IF) is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. It doesn’t specify which foods you should eat but rather when you should eat them. In this respect, it’s not a diet in the conventional sense but more accurately described as an eating pattern. I’ve been intermittent fasting for 18 hours a day for about 60 odd days straight now. This has had an impact on my appetite (when I’m not in a stress) and for the most part has had a positive impact on my weight loss (see previous progress). The recent weigh in though has brought to my mind that, while intermittent fasting is working for me, its not enough on its own. I feel intermittent fasting is a great base to build off but now I need to add to it. Build up from it.
Working on my diet and specifically my post fasting portion sizes I think is my next goal. Gyms are once again open so cardio is back on my radar. My first gym session is 7:45pm today. I have been doing some light strength exercise, tension exercises and trying my hand at using the suspension trainer I am borrowing while I’ve been locked down at home. When I goto the gym I want to focus on cardio to build up some stamina once again. Will be nice to get out the house again too… even if I end up a disgusting sweaty mess.
Fingers crossed we will get back to making progress for next blog post on 1st May, until then here is the gif:~
