Alright! Update number 1.

As you can see in the “Progress since last post:” bit above, it says SOMETHING! I’m still above 180kg, but I got a consistent reading from my home scales. Woooo! Finally getting a reliable reading off my own scales is pretty big for me as its been a while since I’ve been able to measure such things. Pretty damn HYPE about this, not gonna lie.

Overwhelming Support.

Real talk, I was not expecting the amount of interest and support for this silly idea of mine. I received a surprising (to me) number of public comments and private messages driving me on with this as well as people reaching out with ways to help. I cannot thank you all enough. This is a big step for me as I am quite a private person and let’s face it, no one likes to talk about the struggles of losing weight because despite all the “Get Slim QUICK” diet fads, this shit is HARD to shake off and keep off.

Shielding.

On 24th February 2021 I got a letter from Department of Health & Social Care instructing me that their risk model has changed and I am now identified as clinically extremely vulnerable. These new formal shielding measures will apply until at least 31 March 2021 but I think this date will change with time as the UK cautiously exits a full lockdown.

At time of writing, I have still not had a call from the Hospital with the results of the biopsies they took nearly 4 weeks ago. The letter about shielding was dated the day I was due to receive the results. This has made me suspicious. I will call the hospital this week as it will mark 4 weeks since the procedure to chase the results. Hopefully all is boring!

Vaccine Get!

Skipping forward one day, on 25th February 2021 I got my first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for COVID-19! I was invited to book my vaccine on 19th February so a pretty quick turn around. I am happy to report no major side effects, no third arm and/or micro chips tuned to 5G signals. My arm felt like it was punched be a professional boxer for about 3 days after and the first morning I was a little nauseous but all that passed quickly. I get similar reactions to the yearly Flu jab. Takes 3 weeks after the jab for the resistance effects of the vaccine to be set in but now I have a timeline to end shielding and safely leave my bubble (subject to shielding rules changes).

First Review: Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine - ★★★★★ - Looking forward to dose #2.
